Feminine, flirty and fussy is how one can describe Drashta Sarvaiya’s collection for Spring/Summer2009 at Lakme Fashion Week. She called it “Marmalade” and it was a perfect offering for a spring tea party with dresses that had touches of the fun filled twenties but with a modern feel. Drop waists, long and short hemlines, flap trousers, flapper ensembles, interesting tasseled and lace yokes and cute waist coats were a stylish mix in the collection.
Colours were softly pastel as peach, purple, turquoise, orange, rose pink, mint and yellow appeared for luxurious chiffons, Chantilly lace, satin and coated georgettes along with sexy tulle to add to the glamour of the garments.
Drashta achieved some great looks with the coated georgette petal dress, the creeper rosette peach dress, the stylishly draped sleeves, the mauve creation and the lovely lace weave petal outfit.
