Abhishek’s lady love Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who hurried her way to Drona’s premiere dazzled in a mid night blue dress, sporting her ever so contagious smile and clinging on to hubby and the star of the flick, Abhishek Bachchan. Big B, Amitabh Bachchan with wife Jaya Bachchan looked great as always.

Close family friends Amar Singh, Ashutosh Gowarikar with wife were seen too at the premiere.

Apart from the entire Bachchan family, the Drona  premiere, which was one of the biggest of its kind, was attended by industrialist Anil Ambani, and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh besides various cine stalwarts.

From the film industry, the attendees included Sonali Bendre with husband & director of the film, Goldie Behl, Twinkle Khanna, Sushmita Sen, Arshad Warsi with wife Maria Goretti, Yash Chopra, Pamela Chopra, Sooraj Barjatya, Karan Johar, Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, Kay Kay Menon, Aadesh Shrivastava, Prem Chopra, Divya Dutta, Karan Kapoor, DJ Akeel & Farah Khan, Chunkey Pandey, Sanjay Kan, Kunal Kohli, Anaita Shroff, Sanjay Kapoor, Anu Dewan, Neelam, Prasoon Joshi, Sheeba, Ayub Khan, Shaan, Suzanne Roshan, Adnan Sami, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Sophie Chaudhary, Kiron Kher, Sikhander Kher, Sunil Shetty, Farah Khan, Anusha Dandekar, Kunal Kapoor, and Sajid Khan.

So, it was not only Abhishek’s lady love Aishwarya who hurried her way to ‘Drona’s premiere, Bollywood’s ‘Baadshah’ Shah Rukh Khan along with wife Gauri Khan and kids also graced the red carpet at the sparkling venue.

The charming Shah Rukh wished for the movie’s success and hoped it to be as exciting as it promised to be.

Shah Rukh spoke of his association with the Bachchans, “Abhishek and I are good friends, I am certainly looking forward for ‘Drona’, that’s what brings me here.”

In a quick quizzical about Salman, Shah Rukh snapped saying that there was nothing in particular he wanted to talk about and adhered to answering questions about the Bachchans and ‘Drona’.

India to host 2008 Live Earth event

Noble Laureate Dr Rajendra Pachauri, Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Shekhar Kapur and Live Earth Founder Kevin Wall at a press conference to announce Live Earth event 2008 to raise awareness for climate in crisis in Mumbai on Thursday, 18 September 2008. The event is scheduled to be held in Mumbai on December 07.

Eros Pictures, the film production arm of Eros International, is all set to make a sequel of Sujoy Ghosh’s Aladin slated for release this year. Having seen the first cut of Aladin starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh & Jackie Fernandes, Eros is confident of the product and has announced the sequel even before the release of the film.

What does a 65 year old man do? Sit at home and enjoy the fruits of retirement? If you are Harry, you are at home, relishing vodka, pondering over why has the world gone mad, busy making a doorbell that only Einstein can ring and chanting Shakespeare without a worry in the world. No, he’s not crazy. Just passionate. A little unpredictable. Slightly pompous. A wee bit whimsical. Totally adorable. Harry lives with his resilient partner, Vandana, and together, they don’t care a damn for social sanction. Harry lives for acting, loves theatre, adores Shakespeare and absolutely detests cinema. He feels that it is an apology in the name of art. Harry and Vandana are living happily in the cubbyholes of Kolkata, oblivious and invisible to the world. In walks one day Siddharth. A young, cool and stubborn director. He is smart, Harry finds out on the very first meeting. No one else could have cracked that doorbell. Amitabh Bachchan’s most awaited film, Planman Motion Pictures’ The Last Lear, is releasing on September 12. The film is directed by the multiple-award winning Rituparno Ghosh and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah and Divya Dutta.

The film has already been screened at 4 of the world’s best film festivals, including Toronto, Rome, London and Rotterdam. The response there was astounding, with long standing ovations after all the screenings.

Within 24 hours of rocking the show at LA, the stars were already on the job in front of San Francisco crowds. With back to back shows over the weekend, fatigue was bound to set in but the moment lights went on and thousands of fans screamed in unison.
