NDTV Imagine, the country’s popular entertainment destination on television has announced the ‘Salaam-E-Comedy Awards’, in recognition of the genre of comedy films and the artists that are part of this popular genre.  ‘Airtel Salaam-E-Comedy Awards’ has been produced and conceptualized by Percept D’ .

The Awards that aim to recognize and nurture comic talent in the country, will honor the films from January 1st 2007 - April 30th 2008 and its stars from Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Film to Best Comedy Character and Best Comedy Scene of the Year. Airtel Salaam-E-Comedy Awards has an eminent panel of judges from the industry like Ketan Mehta, Kundan Shah, Honey Irani, Sudhir Mishra, Satish Kaushik and Ashok Pandit who have shortlisted the nominations for the various award categories and will decide the winners.

Attendees included the hot Ameesha Patel with new boyfriend Kanav Puri, bombshell Riya Sen, Atul Kulkarni, Bappi Lahri and family, Deepa Mehta, Javed Jafri, Govinda with wife Sunita, Jhonny Lever, Konkona Sen Sharma, Prem Chopra and family, Rajpal Yadav, Rakhi Sawant, Poonam Dhillon, Randeep Hudda, Rituparna Sen Gupta, Rohit Roy and Mansi Joshi, Shama Sikander and Yukta Mookhey.
